Dr. Joon Im earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA in 2000. He received his DVM from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Im then completed his 1-year internship at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in NYC followed by 3-year internal medicine residency at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, TX, and achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (DACVIM) in 2012.
Dr. Im's special areas of interest include gastrointestinal diseases, hepatic diseases, and nutrition. His publications include "Gastric Dilatation Associated with Gastric Colonization with Sarcina-like Bacteria in a Cat with Chronic Enteritis," and "Canine Hepatitis Associated with Intrahepatic Bacteria in 3 Dogs." Dr. Im had served as an associate veterinary internal medicine specialist at North Florida Veterinary Specialists in Jacksonville, FL (2012-2013), and Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners in NYC (2013-2019). Dr. Im founded his own company, IM Veterinary Ultrasound & Internal Medicine Services in 2019, currently providing mobile internal medicine services at Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care on Friday's.
